Over the years FHRAI has strived to fulfill the mission that the Federation has set for itself; that of representing, promoting and developing the Hospitality Industry in India. There have been many successes along the way and the past one year has been specially fruitful.

Revamping of the office administration with modern hi-tech machines, renovation of the Secretariat and employment of competent professionals to run the operation of FHRAI.

Revamping of FHRAI website to bring it to international standard. Now members can pay their subscription ON LINE thereby reducing paper work and increasing efficiency.

The financial position of FHRAI has taken a complete turnaround and the feel good factor has set in with hefty Bank Balance at FHRAI.(Membership figures and graph to be added here)

Major decision were taken to bring a complete turnaround at FHRAI – IHM where number of students admitted this year crossed 100 (more than the sum total of last two years)

New 3 year Graduate programme in Hospitality Catering and Tourism has been started with Sikkim and Manipal University and 1 year programme in various Hospitality operations besides 4 years International Programme in Hospitality and Catering with EHL, Switzerland. The new introduction has helped education for top, middle and entry level professional under one roof.

The Rural Bharat Certification Scheme is a unique programme where training is provided to uneducated youths from villages and remote areas of the country. They are trained at a very reasonable fee and this helps them to get exposed to Corporate culture through FHRAI – IHM and get global marketability.

Formation of FHRAI Education Trust and compliance of all formalities to obtain AICTE approval for FHRAI-IHM.

The new-look revamped FHRAI magazine was published creating added interest in the Industry.
FHRAI influenced a landmark MRP judgment that was pronounced by Delhi High Court. Now Hotels and Restaurants can sell MRP based products above MRP price as provisions of standard of Weights & Measures Act 1956 are not applicable to the Hospitality industry.

Telecom Disputes Settlement & Appelate Tribunal (TDSAT)has ruled in favour of HRAWI. Members will continue to pay cable operators at the rate at which they were paying immediately prior to passing of interim order dated 18.8.05 and they are free tp make fresh agreements.

FHRAI and the Regional Association of South India was instrumaentl in influencing the rationalization and amendment of Luxury tax in Karnataka.
