SUB: ISSUES FACED BY TOUR OPERATORS WITH HOTELS

Dear Member,
 
We have been informed by the Indian Association of Tour Operators (IATO) that the tour operators are facing problems with the hotels with regard to long delay in receiving bills where 100% advance payments are made.

They have highlighted the following issues in their dealings with the hotels:

• In the present time, hotels mostly demand full advance payment at booking stage. However, when clients check out after having availed the stay, tour operators have to keep chasing for GST invoices with the hotels, but the hotels keep delaying.
• In some cases, hotels even do not issue GST invoices in spite of follow-up with the hotels.

A letter received from the President, IATO is enclosed for your kind reference.

We request all hotel members to kindly extend all possible support to the tour operators to resolve this issue.  We also encourage our members to follow good practices with the Tourism ecosystem and our partners.
