India stands as a global beacon of cultural richness, timeless traditions, and world-class hospitality. As destination weddings and MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) tourism continue to gain momentum, the country offers an exceptional synthesis of heritage and modern infrastructure. Strategically unlocking this potential can catalyse sustainable growth across tourism, hospitality, and allied sectors, while fostering deeper collaboration among government institutions, industry stakeholders, and international partners aligned with India’s long-term development vision.
Under the Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s “Wed in India” initiative, the nation is witnessing a notable shift in destination wedding preferences. Couples particularly NRIs, expatriates, and internationally based families who once opted for overseas celebrations are now returning to India, seeking venues that combine global stan dards with authentic cultural experiences. Modern Indian weddings today are no longer about choosing between tradition and convenience; rather, they seamlessly embrace both in a thoughtful and meaningful manner. India’s MICE sector further reinforces this momentum. Valued at USD 49,402.6 million in 2024, the Indian MICE market is projected to reach USD 103,686.5 million by 2030, registering a robust CAGR of 13%.
This growth is being propelled by the emergence of MICE-ready destinations such as Varanasi, Khajuraho, Kochi, and several other cities. Over the past decade, India has witnessed transformative infrastructure development, including more than 1,50,000 km of road networks, modernised railway stations, semi-high-speed trains, inland waterways, over 150 operational airports, and approximately 2.48 million hotel rooms. On the global stage, the MICE market is expect ed to reach USD 1,563.29 billion by 2030, growing at a CAGR of 7.5% from 2023 to 2030 (Source: Grand View Research). In response to evolving market dynamics, businesses are increasingly leveraging MICE events, incentive travel, and destination-led experiences to enhance brand visibility and stimulate local tourism. Alongside the growing popularity of destination weddings, the rise of B2B and B2C events supported by rapid technological advance ments has ushered in a transformative phase for the global events industry.
Against this backdrop, FHRAI is proud to announce the Wedding & MICE Tourism Conclave, scheduled to be held on 28th March 2026 at Hotel Ramada by Wyndham, Lucknow. The conclave will feature a strong international dimension, with participation from embassy representatives, global event partners, and industry leaders, positioning it as a dynamic cross-border platform for dialogue, collaboration, and strategic networking.
