SUB: MERI MAATI MERA DESH CAMPAIGN
Dear Member,
This is in reference to Government of India’s 'Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav (AKAM)’ Celebration to honour 75 years of India's independence and glorious history of its people, culture and achievements.
In alignment to AKAM, the government has initiated ‘Meri Maati Mera Desh’ campaign - an initiative to offer collective tribute to the ‘Motherland’. Following are the 5 Key elements of the campaign-:
- Dedication Silaphalakham- Remembering Bravehearts of ‘Motherland’ by erecting memorial plaque.
- Paanch Pran + Selfie- Taking ‘Paanch Pran’ pledge, promising to commit to nation building with Maati Diya (Earthen Lamp) in hand and uploading selfies on campaign website.
- Vasudha Vandan- Renewing & Replenishing Mother Earth by planting 75 saplings of long-lasting trees.
- Veeron ko Vandan- Salutation to freedom fighters and honoring their families.
- Flag Hoisting + Rashtragaan- Hoisting of National Flag and singing of Rashtragaan.
Government of India has advised FHRAI to encourage its members and their employees to participate in large numbers for successful implementation of ‘Meri Maati Mera Desh’ campaign. It is pertinent to mention that last year, FHRAI members whole-heartedly participated in ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign by hoisting the Indian National Flag at offices, homes, hotels, restaurants, and other prominent places.
To encourage active participation of citizens, a dedicated website https://merimaatimeradesh.gov.in
has been created by the Government where program details, communication material etc. can be gathered along with take pledge and post selfies / videos of participation in the campaign. For more information, please click the link to see a presentation on the campaign-:
FHRAI would like to encourage our members to participate in the ‘Meri Maati Mera Desh’ campaign by taking part in any of the aforesaid activities. Your participation would affirm hospitality sector’s pledge and commitment towards our ‘Motherland’.
With best regards,
Jaison Chacko
Secretary General
