SUB: AMNESTY SCHEME FOR ONE TIME SETTLEMENT OF DEFAULT IN EXPORT OBLIGATION BY ADVANCE AND EPCG AUTHORIZATION HOLDERS

Dear Member,

This is in continuation to our circular dated 1st April 2023 regarding   the announcement of Foreign Trade Policy 2023. The new Foreign Trade Policy has also introduced an amnesty scheme to support the trade and industry and encourage exporters and this is beneficial for those who are unable to fulfill their Export Obligations (EO) under the Export Promotion Capital Goods (EPCG) and Advance Authorization scheme.

An amnesty scheme has been introduced for a one time settlement of defaults in EO by holders of Advance Authorization and EPCG Authorization. Authorization holders can regularize all pending cases of default in EO by paying all customs duties exempted in proportion to the unfulfilled EO.

The maximum interest is capped at 100 percent of such duties exempted. However, no interest is payable on the portion of Additional Customs Duty and Special Additional Customs Duty.

All the authorization holders who are interested to avail the scheme shall register themselves on the website: https://www.dgft.gov.in in a separate application form provided for this purpose by filling in all relevant details.

Please note that this scheme is available for a limited period until 30th September 2023 and cases that are under investigation for fraud and diversion are not eligible.
